A child’s early years are the foundation for his or her future development towards life long learning. That is why St. Ignatius begins with a full curriculum in our 1K program, which is mirrored in 2K-4K. This allows us to reinforce and build upon these academic skills for several years which leads to our students being exceptionally ready for Kindergarten.
We are not only focused on our tiny Impalas academic achievements. Early Learning Center director, Dr. Kathy Wilkins-Jones also administers assessments across all five domains: health, motor skills , social & emotional development, language & literacy and cognition. Through a variety of curricular and extracurricular activities, St. Ignatius children are taught to become productive and exemplary Christian leaders.
Kindergarten through second grade lays the foundation for student success across all levels of academia. Not only are all core classes mastered but students are also instructed in Theology, Latin, fine arts, computer technology, physical education, library and more.
Third through fifth grade classes focus on more critical reading and writing with a laser focus on science and math. They focus on various levels of problem solving and analysis in preparation for middle school.
Our Middle School Program (sixth-eighth grade) offers a more rigorous curriculum in preparation for high school. Students are taught to be more self reliant with a variety of assignments and responsibilities. Students will transition for each class period to a different teacher. St. Ignatius middle school students also break into single sex classes twice a day, every day for Science and Theology.
Our middle school teachers only teach one subject. We believe our middle school teachers have mastered their subject area and our students directly benefit from their knowledge.
All Impalas Kindergarten through 8th grade visit six special courses each week to enhance their academic experience: Art, Music, Latin, PE (every day), Computer Technology and Library Services.
