Thank you for your interest in our school!
St. Ignatius Catholic School was opened by the Sisters of Mercy in 1952. St. Ignatius Catholic School is one of eight Catholic Elementary schools in the Mobile and Baldwin Deanery of the Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama. Presently, St. Ignatius Catholic School serves 642 children
ages 4 months to 4 years in the Early Learning Center Nursery & Preschool and K-8, on one 13 acre campus in Spring Hill.
I am excited to introduce myself, Tori Yarbrough-Miller, the principal of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School in Mobile, Alabama. I have been honored to serve and lead as the principal since 2016. Prior to 2016, I was vice-principal for three years under Mr. Gary Blackburn. My teaching career began at St. Ignatius Catholic School in 1999 as a member of the 6th grade middle school team. I am a native Mobilian and a proud product of Catholic Education. I attended St. Pius X Catholic Elementary School and McGill-Toolen Catholic High School. I graduated from Spring Hill College with my bachelors and masters degrees and I hold an educational leadership degree from the University of South Alabama.
My focus continues to be on ensuring that our students are at the center of all school-related decisions and that they are equipped with the knowledge and faith to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. I am excited to bring my experience, openness to learning, and student-centered
approach to support our school community. As a mother of two girls. Agatha and Hadley, I understand the importance of engaged family involvement in Catholic education and faith.
Parents are the first educators of their children and we, at St. Ignatius Catholic School, value and respect that partnership with our parents. We expect and encourage our parents to become involved in every aspect of our school so as to make our school community vibrant and
growing.
May God bless you,
Tori Yarbrough-Miller
Principal, St. Ignatius Catholic School
The Sisters of Mercy opened St. Ignatius Catholic School in 1952, teaching children in kindergarten through fourth grade. Although the Sisters of Mercy departed from the school in 1980, their spirit lives on in the rich tradition they started over sixty-four years ago.
Today, we teach children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, on one campus in Spring Hill. St. Ignatius is a community school serving both our parish and the greater Spring Hill area. We provide an outstanding education in an environment that nurtures and supports our Catholic faith. Families are involved through volunteer opportunities, special events including: Grandparents Day, Pre-K Family Picnic, and by joining our children for mass every Friday.
