The Physical Education program provides opportunities for leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, following directions, and Christian behavior in the form of athletic competition, physical fitness, station work, and more.
Beginning in Kindergarten all Impalas are educated in Physical Education five days a week. K-8 also incorporates daily recess time. We believe increased physical activity helps students focus in the classroom.
Our PE program is developmental in nature beginning with loco-motor skills, large muscle activities, eye/hand coordination, eye/foot coordination, games of low-organization, simple tumbling, and dance skills for the youngest students. Intermediate grades use the skills learned in the primary grades and develop them in sport lead-up games.Special opportunities include PE Extravaganza in the Fall and Field Day in the Spring.
