Brief Bio:

St Ignatius’ first recruit and the very first Jesuit priest; college roommates with Xavier & Ignatius; was a shepherd boy in the Alps, longed to go to school and cried every night to go, but his family was too poor; finally was able to attend at age 10 or 11; quickly turned in to an excellent student who later helped Ignatius and all his friends with their studies. He got Ignatius through Greek; Ignatius got him through seminary. Died in the arms of St. Ignatius. Canonized recently by Pope Francis after centuries of being “Blessed.”
